Test & Train

A monthly online dressage clinic with individual coaching

Test & Train is a monthly online dressage clinic run on a fixed day, where riders receive private, one-to-one coaching from me.

Each rider works individually, bringing their own test and test sheet into a focused coaching conversation. There is no group coaching element, this is a private coaching conversation, shaped around your horse, your test, and the decisions that matter next.

Test & Train brings training, competition, and coaching together in a practical, thoughtful way, helping riders understand their test more deeply and connect it clearly to the work they do at home.

This is structured, individual coaching, delivered live, online, and centred on how you and your horse ride a test.

Why Test & Train exists

Test & Train exists to help riders enjoy presenting a test, not just riding it.

It’s about learning how to show your horse’s strengths clearly and confidently, with an understanding of where marks are awarded and how each movement connects to the next. When riders understand this, they can polish their arena craft, prepare more effectively for each transition and movement, and keep the test flowing.

This work goes beyond individual movements. It supports riders in developing awareness of the competition-day environment; the atmosphere, the timing, the pressure, so they can arrive prepared and ride at their best.

At its heart, Test & Train is about helping riders present a harmonious partnership with their horse, in a way that feels intentional, composed, and true to their training.

What happens in Test & Train

1. You ride a test
You choose a dressage test and compete in a way that suits you, either at an in-person event or through an online competition platform. You arrive at the clinic with your test sheet and a clear sense of how the test felt to ride.

2. We explore the test together
Test & Train is a one-to-one coaching conversation built around your test ride.We take time to look at how the test felt to ride, how marks were awarded, and how preparation, timing, and decision-making showed up on the day.

Sometimes we’ll pause on a single movement and unpack it properly, not to criticise, but to uncover what it’s really asking of you and your horse, and how small shifts in awareness can change the whole picture. This is where fresh insight often appears.

3. You leave with clarity, not a checklist
Rather than a list of things to “fix”, you leave with a clearer sense of what matters most for your next tests. You’ll have new ways of thinking about preparation, flow, and presentation; ideas you can carry with you as you ride, reflect, and plan.

4. You apply that insight as you prepare for what’s next

As you head into your next competition, that awareness shows up in how you ride, riding with intention in the arena and showing your horse’s strengths clearly and confidently.

From here, you decide how you’d like to continue.

You may choose to join the waitlist for the next Test & Train clinic, building insight and confidence over time as different tests and phases unfold.
Or you may decide to explore Competition Coaching, where live ridden sessions and video feedback support your preparation alongside these coaching conversations.

Join the Test & Train waitlist

Test & Train runs on a fixed monthly clinic day, with a limited number of individual coaching conversations available each time.

The waitlist is the best way to be notified when the next session opens. It also allows me to plan dates around competition schedules and offer places thoughtfully, rather than rushing the process.

If this way of working resonates, you’re very welcome to add your name below.

When a Test & Train date is released, waitlist members are contacted first with full details and the option to book a place.
